A super rare Aston Martin DB7, first owned by the original Rocket Man, Sir Elton John, is now up for sale on Auto Trader for a cool £34,990.

Just 66 manual DB7 Volantes have ever been made, making this car particularly rare. The beauty has been finished in metallic Toro Red with a magnolia interior and full walnut veneers.

Aston Martin has given it the works, boasting an electric roof, cruise control, air conditioning and heated seats. Not bad for a 27-year-old model. Whilst it has got 79,000 miles on the clock, the car has clearly been well-looked after with a lot of attention from Aston Martin Works and other specialists.

Other Volantes with a high mileage are likely to go for approximately £26,000, so it seems there is a premium placed on this car due to its celebrity owner, along with it having been given star treatment over the years, and being maintained to the highest standard.

An Auto Trader spokesperson said: “After 27 years, it’s amazing to see this car Still Standing, but that’ll be down to the level of care and attention its received. Only one lucky driver can buy it, so others will be sad to miss out. I guess that’s why they call it the blues.

“Those looking to sell their cars privately can take inspiration from how celebrity-owned cars are being advertised on Auto Trader. High res images and personalised descriptions really help to make the most of your ad and sell your car quickly; for the price you deserve.”

The car is available from Baker Brothers in Cobham, who can be contacted through the Auto Trader ad.

Thanks to @ClarkRjoclark & @johnfohanlon1 for a fascinating interview. Great to hear such optimism for our industry!
Pre-#COVID19 - John believes their web presence wasn’t geared to help facilitate remote sales but, as a result of the pandemic, they have focussed on enabling more of the car buying journey to take place online - something they will continue to do into the future
John expects a slight softening in the next 2-3 weeks but this will be due to holiday season so no reason to panic – key is to focus on the quarters performance which has been incredibly strong for @WaylandsVolvo
